Holiday Wrap Up
We hope that you enjoyed a blessed holiday with family and friends. We are thankful to our ESLC family and staff for generously giving to the Cleveland community this holiday season. We are proud to share that our three Centers donated over 50 gifts to Gilmour Academy, who distributed the gifts to families in need in the Cleveland area. Our Annual Food Drive for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank was also generously supported by the ESLC families. Thank you!

Early Steps and Making Strides of Cleveland
Early Steps administration, staff, Center families and friends walked in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Sunday October 11. What a beautiful day celebrating survivors and supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission! “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer, and
Early Steps is “Going Green!”
It is with great pride and excitement that we introduce to you, “Going Green!”– The Tyla Woodson Recycling Program. “Going Green!” is the thoughtful idea of one of our former School-Age students, Tyla Woodson. Today in our world, we use many materials that can be reused but instead we choose to throw them away. When we do that, we are wasting and ultimately polluting our planet. Our “Going Green!” program will focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling of paper
Insider’s Guide to School
“As a center director and a mom of a brand new kindergartner, this article provided helpful information and lots of encouragement about this very special year and new adventure called “Elementary School.” Whatever grade your “little person” or “little people” are in, I think you will find this article both helpful and entertaining, as you manage this school year and many school years to come!” – From our Director Lauren http://www.parents.com/kids/education/back-to-school/insiders-guide-to-school/
Summer Camp 2015 Memories
“Summer camp was a wonderful experience this year! Summer camp is not just a few weeks strung together, but rather an experience to look forward to and memories to treasure after school starts again! With over 20 planned field trips and special in-house activities, students have learned academic and social skills that they can take with them. Campers also built positive relationships with both each other and our staff that will last a lifetime. Thank you for a great summer!”
Routines and Security
Does your family have routines – such as for bedtime or getting ready for daycare or school? We frequently stress the importance of routines to parents and hear many questions as to why. One of our Directors, Janet, found a very helpful article from a favorite resource of ours, AhaParenting.com. One of the most important takeaways… “Children, like the rest of us, handle change best if it is expected and occurs in the context of a familiar routine. A predictable
